The idea is similar to couchsurfing.com where people offer up their couches to travelers, but in the case of airbedandbreakfast there is always a nightly charge (and not just an exchange of say, chores for one night of couchsurfing) that is still well under what one might pay for a hotel. Doing a quick search, we found the places above available in Los Angeles starting at $45/night, though we noticed that most do not offer breakfast.
